Oops

Ok - this was so funny that I wanted to document it.

My friend, (not me and who will remain nameless), wanted to a fax an insurance claim form back to the US from our office here.  To do this, you would dial 0 (to get an outside line) and then 001 - plus area code and number.

He dialed 0 11 212 xxx xxxx to fax his document.   Long Story short, the German equivalent to 911 is 112. (good to know now)

He basically tied up the entire regional emergency response system by repeatedly trying fax them a document, forced the police to contact the doctor on the insurance form, who then found his wife, who then found him to cancel the sending of the fax.

Order was restored and the Wuppertal regional police department is now back in business - whew.
